Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Peter has over 20 years experience in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) field.

During 29 years service in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), Peter’s career provided him with extensive experience in aircraft weapons engineering, explosive ordnance disposal and logistics operations. Peter held the post of the RAAF’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer and in that capacity was responsible for the management of all deep recovery of UXO on air weapons ranges within Australia. Additional responsibilities included the provision of direct response and assistance in UXO incidents. Additional tasking included the provision of assistance to other jurisdictions in UXO remediation tasks on disused weapons ranges.

Internationally, Peter also served in the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) to Iraq in 1992 in the roles of Deputy Chief Inspector and Acting Chief Inspector of the Chemical Destruction Group, which was responsible for the destruction of both Mustard and Nerve agents and their pre-cursor chemicals. Peter was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross for developing destruction methods for nerve agent filled rockets and mustard filled aerial bombs.

After leaving the RAAF in 1998, Peter has maintained his Defence ties by working as a consultant on major Defence projects such as JORN (Jindalee over the horizon radar network), and in many smaller tasks and roles that have kept him close to the weapons and ordnance fields, in both the Air and Land environments.

Peter joined Milsearch in 2010, to provide UXO management services in southern Australia and has already become current with the requirements of commercial UXO remediation operations.
