An Officer Cadet School Portsea graduate, Brian completed more than fifteen years as an officer in the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps. Appointments in logistics, staff, field force, special forces and ammunition technical positions have given him a range of experiences and enabled him to develop knowledge applicable to Milsearch’s work.
Brian has worked in ammunition depots, ammunition inspection and proof, EOD/IED operational roles, tri-service EOD Control Centre, range clearance/UXO disposal, ammunition surveillance, incident investigation, public safety campaigns, research and development, counter terrorism, plus design and delivery of explosives related training for military and civilian organisation in both a management and ‘hands on’ capacity. He also served in Australia’s parachute battalion and the Special Air Service Regiment.
His versatility has permitted his involvement in a wide range of projects involving dangerous goods. Brian’s history of explosive ordnance related work includes significant UXO investigation, assessment and remediation tasks throughout Australia. He worked on search and clearance operations on sites earmarked for the Sydney Olympics.
After leaving the Army Brian undertook training and consultancy work, and established his own small business before joining Milsearch.
Brian is well versed in all aspects of UXO contamination sampling and area remediation. As well as being a competent and experienced field EOD technician, Brian has a proven record of successfully managing UXO operations.
